Privacy Policy

WetBulb-Guard is designed to help you understand local heat conditions. We do not require an account, and we do not operate a service that collects or stores your personal information.

Information used by the app

• Location. If you choose “current location,” the app requests your device location permission and uses your coordinates to obtain local weather data. You can instead search for a city without granting location permission.
• City searches and weather requests. The app sends a city search or selected location coordinates to Open-Meteo to retrieve geocoding and forecast data.
• On-device settings. Your selected location, cached weather snapshot, alert threshold, activity choices, and notification preference are stored locally on your device so the app can work as expected.

How information is used

Location and city-search information are used only to display a relevant weather forecast and estimate heat risk. Local settings are used only to preserve your choices and schedule the optional alert you enable. WetBulb-Guard does not transmit your local settings or cached weather data to us.

Third-party weather service

Forecast and geocoding requests are made directly to Open-Meteo. That service may receive technical information that is normally included in an internet request, such as your IP address, along with the requested city name or coordinates. Its handling of information is governed by its own terms and privacy information.

What we do not do

We do not collect account information, contacts, photos, health data, payment information, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use information to track you across apps or websites.

Notifications

Notifications are optional. When enabled, an alert is scheduled locally on your device from the forecast already shown in the app. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

Data retention and choices

Because app settings and cached data are stored locally, you control them. You can change the selected location or preferences in the app, remove the app to delete its local data, and manage location or notification permissions in your device settings.

Children

WetBulb-Guard is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when we do.
