A focused iPhone app for viewing GPX routes, elevation, waypoints, and your position while following a route.
Getting started
Open a GPX file from the Files app, AirDrop, or another app that shares GPX files. GPX-Viewer imports the route into its local library, where you can review its route line, elevation, and waypoints.
Common questions
Why does the app ask for location permission?
Location is optional and is requested only when you start following an imported route. It lets the app show your live position in relation to that route. You can still view routes without granting permission.
Where are my GPX files stored?
Imported GPX files and route details are stored locally on your device. The app does not provide cloud sync or upload routes to a developer-operated server.
How do I remove a route?
Delete the route from the app’s route library. Removing the app also removes its locally stored data, subject to your device and backup settings.
Can I share an imported route?
Yes. Choose “Share original GPX” for a route and select a destination in the iOS share sheet.
Why won’t a GPX file import?
Check that the file has a .gpx extension and contains at least one valid route or track point. Try exporting the file again from its source if it still cannot be read.

GPX-Viewer does not require an account or a test login. The app works without an independent backend service.
