GPX-Viewer
Privacy Policy
GPX-Viewer is designed to keep your routes on your device. It has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics service, cloud sync, or developer-operated server for route data.
Information the app uses
- GPX files and route details. When you choose a GPX file, the app reads its route, track, elevation, and waypoint data so it can display the route. The imported file and its route information are stored locally in the app’s documents area on your device.
- Location. With your permission, the app accesses your current location only when you choose to follow an imported route. Location is used on-device to show your position relative to that route.
- App preferences. The app saves route-library information locally so your imported routes remain available on your device.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide the app’s route-viewing and route-following features. GPX files, route details, location, and preferences are not sent to us or to a third party by the app.
Sharing
The app can open the iOS share sheet when you choose to share an original GPX file. Any sharing occurs only after you select a destination in the system share sheet and is governed by that destination’s privacy practices.
Data retention and deletion
Your imported routes remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Deleting the app removes data stored in its local app container, subject to your device and backup settings.
Your choices
You can decline or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Without location permission, route viewing remains available, but live route-following will not work. You can also delete individual imported routes in the app.
Children’s privacy
GPX-Viewer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not transmit personal information to us, we do not maintain user profiles or accounts.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app’s data practices change. The current version will always be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
