Airport-METAR Privacy Policy
Airport-METAR is an iPhone app for checking airport METAR, TAF, flight category, and weather widgets. The app is designed to keep data collection minimal and to use public aviation weather data for informational purposes.
1. Information the App Uses
- Airport search terms, favorite airports, and app preferences you create while using the app.
- Widget configuration choices, such as which saved airport to display.
- Public aviation weather data requested from external weather data sources.
2. How the Information Is Used
- To search airports and show METAR, TAF, decoded weather, and flight category results.
- To save your favorites and display selected airport weather in widgets.
- To improve app stability and provide basic troubleshooting if you contact support.
3. Data Storage
- Core app data such as favorites and preferences is intended to be stored on your device.
- Airport-METAR does not require account creation.
- Airport-METAR does not include social posting or public profile features.
4. Data Sharing
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your favorites or app usage data with advertisers.
- We do not claim affiliation with FAA, NOAA, or NWS, and public weather data remains subject to those sources.
5. Third-Party Data Sources
Airport-METAR may display publicly available aviation weather data sourced from NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center interfaces or related public feeds. Those sources operate under their own terms and availability.
6. Children's Privacy
Airport-METAR is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe inappropriate information has been provided, contact support using the support page.
7. Policy Changes
If this policy changes materially, this page will be updated and the effective date will be revised.
